Usaquén was founded just one year after Santa Fe de Bogotá, serving originally as the agricultural pantry for the capital and a resting place for travelers.

With nearly 500 years of history, it was born with a natural touristic spirit. After indigenous lands were sold off following the Spanish crown’s decrees, the area was eventually acquired by Don Pepe Sierra, who built the Santa Bárbara Hacienda (now the famous shopping center).

Today, this charming «frozen-in-time» village is a favorite among locals and foreigners alike, renowned for its vibrant culinary scene and its famous weekend flea market, active for 28 years.
